The 208 is ok. The disadvantage is the "slip-yoke" style out-put shaft. Most of the other (older) t-cases have a solidly mounted out-put and the slip-joint in built into the driveshaft itself. If you go lifting and/or off-roading, that becomes a limiting factor.The 4L80E has two shaft lengths; two and four wheel drive. I have read that you have to use the long NP205 input, which I have. However, I can not find info as to if the four or two wheel drive output shaft on the tranny is needed. I have come to the conclusion it takes a 2wd with about 1/2" cut off the end.Need to make a CV style rear drive shaft and I dont have a flange to bolt it to. Need a 4 bolt 32 spline output flange like what's on the front of a Ford or Dodge np205. 99% sure I can use the front out put on a chevy NP208 and use a different seal in my Chevy 205 to make it work.
